Data Adminstrator (VAC174) (Contract) Our client who is based in Australia is seeking to recruit a mainframe applications development technical staff member with extensive experience and highly developed skills in a database development environment. The Client makes extensive use of DB2 and MS SQL databases for the development and support of a number of large scale internal and external facing applications. Duties will include: • Liasing closely with Project teams during the design phase for database design for new and existing applications • Providing Model designs in Enterprise Architecture for review and discussion with Project teams. Implementing data model designs in both CA Gen logical and technical design • Understanding and promoting corporate approach to system design based on standards, procedures and guidelines • Providing leadership, mentoring and skills transfer to other team members • Physically desiging database structures for the DB2 and MS SQL platform with consideration to SQL server interactions and current production applications • Providing performance tuning and conversion support as required • Performing data-management, environment set-up and testing support for Project teams • Managing the migration of database structures across environments • Reviewing database designs, code and documentation as required • Providing after hours and weekend on-call support as required • Completing tasks within potentially tight timeframes and manage conflicting priorities Personal Profile: • Experience in data modelling, database design and supporting Project teams during the analysis process, providing model designs in a modelling tool • Proven ability to design and develop physical db2 structures utilising the CA Gen modelling toolset and MVS/DB2/SQL/DDL skillsets • Ability to use third party products for the support of mainframe DB2, such as CA Database Management Solutions • Experience that demonstrates your ability to communicate and negotiate technical issues with a variety of audiences • Supports productive working relationships and demonstrates personal drive and integrity If you tink you have the required skills and you wish to discuss the role further please send us your CV without a delay!
