Systems Architect (VAC159) (Contract)

Working with our Client would involve the use of leading edge technology to deliver practical and innovative solutions that support the organisation's business activities. Projects are challenging and involve the development and support of Web based systems. Strong technical aptitude, competence and the ability to provide high quality services, is essential.


Description of Work:

* Translate business strategy into technical vision and strategy
* Identify and communicate any technical risks or opportunities that may impact the IT system
* Capture Enterprise requirements of the architecture
* Participate in the development of enterprise architecture standards
* Promote the development and reuse of common solutions, components and services
* Prepare architectural documents and presentations
* Ensure the technical architecture conforms to the standards
* Review implementation of solution to ensure architectural outcomes are met
* Identify and address architectural challenges
* Provide technical leadership and guidance to the development team

Personal Profile:

* Minimum of 5 years experience in architecting and developing scalable IT solutions of large and complex projects that meet business requirements and are consistent with Enterprise Architecture
* Exceptionally well developed written and oral communication skills with the ability to share, communicate and negotiate with varied stakeholders including executive staff, business sponsors, Architecture and technical team members
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies
* Extensive experience with Service Orientated Architecture, Event Driven Architecture, architectural patterns, design patterns and the use of UML and/or BPMN
* Proven experience in reengineering business processes and implementing workflow based solutions
* Excellent analytical, trouble shooting and problem solving abilities
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team leader and to tight timeframes
* Tertiary qualifications in the field of Computer Science, Information Technology (or related disciplines)

Organisation's information technology environment is based on Microsoft products including Visual Studio .Net 2008, C#, SQL Server 2008, SharePoint Portal Server, Office 2003 and Exchange.
