Business Analyst (VAC149) (Contract)

An exciting opportunity has arisen with our Client based in Australia who is looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join their Business & Systems Analysis team on a 6-12 months basis.

Work would involve the use of leading edge technology to deliver practical and innovative solutions that support the Client’s business activities. Projects are challenging and involve the development and support of Web based systems. Strong technical aptitude, competence and the ability to provide high quality services, is essential.

Our Client’s information technology environment is based on Microsoft products including Visual Studio .Net 2008, C#, SQL Server 2008, SharePoint Portal Server, Office 2003 and Exchange.

The role is required to identify and develop business requirements, needs and features to appropriately meet stakeholders policy and program needs. You will be assisting in the development of data requirements and associated administration processes, while engaging effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Description of Work:

• Methodically investigate, analyse, review and document all or part of a business area in terms of business functions and processes, the information used and the data on which the information is based
• Define requirements for improving any aspect of the processes and systems, and contribute to quantifying potential business benefits
• Create or contribute to viable specifications and define acceptance criteria in preparation for the construction of business solutions
• Actively participate in the Business Analyst community, to continually improve the quality of Client’s products and practices

Personal Profile:

Essential:
• Demonstrate strong skills and experience in eliciting and analysing business processes, requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Demonstrate strong skills in Business Process Modelling, Unified Modelling Language and iterative development, to produce and review valid information models, activity diagrams and use cases for the construction of a variety of business solutions
• Demonstrate a strong ability to liaise with business and technical stakeholders, understand their needs and foster productive working relations
• Demonstrate strong organisational skills, including the ability to manage changes to business requirements and priorities.

Desirable:
• Experience in identifying and maintaining traceability across business requirements artefacts
• Experience with using requirements gathering tools such as Enterprise Architect
• Minimum three years experience as a Business Analyst in a Software development project
