.NET Developer (VAC148) (Contract)

Our Client who is Based in Australia is looking for a .Net Developer to join their Business & Systems Analysis team on a 6-12 months contract basis.

Work would involve the use of leading edge technology to deliver practical and innovative solutions that support the Client’s business activities. Projects are challenging and involve the development and support of Web based systems. Strong technical aptitude, competence and the ability to provide high quality services, is essential.

The Client’s information technology environment is based on Microsoft products including Visual Studio .Net 2008, C#, SQL Server 2008, SharePoint Portal Server, Office 2003 and Exchange.

This position is required to provide technical expertise in the form of applications development to major ICT projects as well as mentoring staff to develop and broaden the skills base within the Branch. You will be developing applications with the support of business analysts and other technical specialists while working on large scale, complex application development project for our business areas.

Description of Work:
As part of a project team, undertake highly complex design, development and integration activities across a number of business applications and web sites in accordance with business requirements and consistent with Client’s architecture standards, including:
• Design and development of web applications using Microsoft development tools including VS 2005 and 2008, Team Foundation Servers
• Database design and development for Microsoft SQL server 2005 and 2008
• Web site design and development using Microsoft development tools
• Managing and leading a technical team (application development)
• Developing of an online application(s) in Microsoft .Net systems (including Smart Client) and SQL 2005 and 2008 Database
• Providing specialised technical advice on innovative and practical solutions to complex design and programming problems following an agile methodology
• Engaging stakeholders in relation to design, coding, implementation, change management and ongoing support to a business application
• Preparing and maintain application documentation consistent with Client’s Systems Development Methodology

Candidate Profile:
1. Extensive knowledge and experience in analysis, design and programming in an Internet/Intranet environment using Microsoft products.
2. Extensive knowledge and experience in:
• Visual Studio .NET 2005 / 2008, C#, ASP.NET
• Windows 2003 and IIS 6
• Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and SQL 2008
• XML and XSLT, HTML, CSS, SQL, WCF, SmartClient, JavaScript
• Microsoft .Net Framework version 2, 3 and 3.5
• Object Oriented design and development
3. Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership, including the ability to provide assistance and guidance to both technical and business team members.
4. Highly developed investigative, analytical and problem solving skills applicable to an e-business technology development environment.
5. Well developed written and oral communication skills including negotiation, collaboration and presentation skills.
6. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team member and/or individually.
