Test Manager/Tester (VAC145) (Permanent) A very exciting opportunity has arisen with our Client who is based in Australia and is looking for a Test Manager/Tester to join their Software Testing and Q&A team on a 6 months contract basis. The Specialist Tester will provide support to the Employment Systems and Relationships Group and work within a Project team/s on a wide variety of projects and perform functions including: • Analysis of specifications and changes required to perform the testing process • Write, review and execute test cases • Raise defect reports and manage retesting of defect fixes • Assist with the planning, monitoring and management for the progress of testing • Mentor staff A successful candidate will have experience in following areas: 1. Demonstrated ability to effectively mentor testing staff, and to manage own work against competing priorities and tight deadlines. 2. Demonstrated system testing experience in a large on-line environment – with at least 10 years testing experience including: • execution & testing of mainframe batches • use & testing of MQ messaging • analytical skills • development of test plans • execution of tests according to plans • defect management • using industry tools (eg HP Quality Centre formerly 'Mercury Quality Centre' (Test Director) , and • experience in interrogating and querying SQL server and Mainframe databases using tools such as RC Update & Hyperion Personal profile: 1. Well developed communication skills, including: • read, comprehend and write technical material effectively • negotiation and liaison skills • ability to communicate with staff from technical and non-technical backgrounds • presentation skills 2.
