Software Developer (VAC137) (Permanent)

Location: West Midlands
Salary: £34,000 - £38,0000

Our client urgently requires a Software Developer with strong background in ASP.Net and a good knowledge of VB.NET.

The successful candidate must be able to proactively work with the various business areas and the product development team to develop, test and support the "Product" software that maintains the flow of work and delivers business efficiencies.

The role includes:

* Understanding the function, role and activity of the assigned department
* Writing code to agreed standards in the defined languages that may change from time to time
* Ensuring that the written code conforms to the quality standards of the development team
* Assuring that code produced is of the highest standard with the lowest failure rate possible for the work package parameters provided
* Working with and reporting to the Project Team to refine expectations, feedback ideas and clarify requirements
* Accurately assessing and estimating for any given specification, the personal development effort required to complete that job
* Performing maintenance programming and correction of identified defects
* Developing into existing programs by analysing and identifying areas for modification
* Maintaining systems by monitoring and correcting software defects

Skills:

* Qualifications to MCTS, MCSD or MCAD level
* Full commercial proficiency with ASP.NET v 2.0
* Full commercial proficiency with SQL Server/TSQL
* Demonstrable commercial experience of the full software development lifecycle
* Experience in client side programming including HTML, CSS, JavaScript & AJAX
* Experience in Reporting Services 2003/2008
