Web Generation and proxies (3 days)


The Web generation course introduces development staff to the concepts web application development. It explores the different styles of Web application that can be developed with Gen, then goes on to show how to build and deploy a web application.

A common cost effective way of transitioning your application to the web is to leave the server environment of an existing application as is and deploy the client to the web. This scenario is explored first to illustrate a possible migration approach. The course then takes web generation further with information on how to deploy Gen servers as EJBs and deployment options to popular web application servers are discussed. The course concludes with discussions and exercises on the deployment of Gen servers as web services thus illustration an approach to making Gen developed business transactions open to other programming environments.
