Jumar Solutions has been awarded a place on the UK Government’s G-Cloud framework.  The framework, with its online ‘Cloudstore’, allows Government departments, local authorities and the wider public sector to procure commodity-based cloud computing services, without having to run their own OJEU procurements.

Jumar worked with Avios (formerly Airmiles) to improve the functionality of its internal CA Gen based systems, providing specialist recruitment services to fill a range of highly-technical roles. These resources helped deliver greatly improved functionality and customer features. As a global CA Gen specialist ,Jumar fully understood the technical and recruitment requirements, and over the years both companies have worked on a number of new programmes together.

CSN (Sweden’s Board for Study Support) want to future proof its main application which is written in CA Gen.  It is working with Jumar on this major project spanning a number of years, using Jumars’s unqiue Project Phoenix automation.  It involves a successive transitions to a service oriented architecture allowing CSN to flexibly  replace its legacy applications with a combination of off-the-shelf applications & internally developed systems, thus supporting CSN’s modernisation objectives.

American Express recognised a strategic need to migrate some of their CA Gen applications  into COBOL/IMS.  They approached Jumar because of its proven track record in all aspects of CA Gen development.  Jumar’s extensive ability to generate code enabled Amex to convert UML representations into native COBOL running under IMS in a fraction of the time (and therefore cost) that would have been required to do this manually.

Dutch retail giant C1000’s programme to re-architect a mission critical supermarket management system required extensive proof of concept – completed by Jumar in a short period of time.  Jumar’s expertise and Project Phoenix software automated the splitting of legacy applications into defined components in a fraction of the time compared to a manual process.  This reduced maintenance cost and increased flexibility, for example by allowing PDAs to be introduced on the shop floor.

Jumar worked with Cyta to modernise its internally developed CA Gen systems containing more than 50 mission critical applications.  The replatforming sped up data retrieval by 50%, followed by a automated rearchitecture to client/server technology, saving considerable cost. Jumar and Cyta used agile methodology and tools to efficiently deliver ‘green screen’ to web 2.0 project allowing staff to deliver superior customer service.  The project won an OutSystems “agilityaward”.

Volkswagen Group reduced the time spent on a testing project by using Jumar to provide a team including a Test Team Leader and Functional Testers.  The Jumar team worked closely with Volkswagen Group through the functional testing phase to ensure the project was suitable for implementation.

The Royal Bank of Scotland planned to upgrade to a new version of CA Gen to ensure that they maintained compliance in a small, business critical application. Jumar supported them by providing training to a team of experienced COBOL developers, in order to allow them to maintain the upgraded system .  The week long course covered a wide range of aspects from Data Modelling, Coding business rules and user interface design through to system generation and deployment.
